Schwarz - Sagittal Appliance

The Schwarz–Sagittal Appliance is a removable orthodontic device designed to achieve both transverse (side-to-side) and sagittal (front-to-back) expansion of the dental arch. It combines a midline screw for widening narrow arches with sagittal screws that allow forward movement of anterior teeth or backward movement of posterior teeth.

This dual-action appliance is ideal for treating crowding, arch length discrepancies, and developing malocclusions in growing patients. Used primarily during the mixed dentition phase, it provides controlled, gradual expansion and is activated by the patient or caregiver under orthodontist supervision. Its versatility makes it a valuable tool for early interceptive treatment.
